Johnny, who is captain of his football team, decides to join the military upon graduating from high school. Joining just to get away from his parents and to be with his girlfriend, he hears of the attack that the bugs nuked his hometown, Klendathu. Mad, Johnny decides to stay in the army fighting off the bugs with his friends in retaliation for the loss of his parents and other people's lives and for the good of the world.
