X-Files Season 5 from 1998 kicks off with 'Redux' in which Mulder's desperate search for the cure to Scully's rare illness leads to help from an unlikely source. The twists become more entwined in 'Bad Blood' as Mulder and Scully are put on a murder case of a teenager and they realise that the teenager had been accused of being a vampire. 'Patient X' brings a horrific reality for Mulder and Scully when UFO abductees gather en masse and are burned alive. Scully is hypnotised in 'The Red and the Black' to regress back to the fateful day that she was abducted. Was it at the mass burning site? Only Scully can answer the question. Will the hypnotist help end her quest to find the identity of her unknown cancer and to hopefully find a cure?
